What I Believe
- I believe in the one true and living God, Who, by His sovereign will and for His eternal glory, exists in three co-equal and co-eternal persons. (II Corinthians 13:14, I John 5:7, I Peter 1:2, Hebrews 11:6)
- I believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (Exodus 32:16, Jeremiah 30:2, II Timothy 3:16, Numbers 23:19, II Peter 1:16–21)
- I believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, provided our redemption through His substitutionary atoning death, was raised bodily from the dead by the Father, ascended into heaven, and that one day He will return. (I Thessalonians 4:16, I Thessalonians 1:7, Acts 1:9–10, Romans 1:3–4, Matthew 1:20–23, Acts 2:22, Romans 3:24–25, I Corinthians 15:3–4)
- I believe that salvation is only through the free gift of God’s grace through faith, without any works on our part, and that those who trust in Jesus alone for their salvation are to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 1:16, Matthew 28:18–20, Romans 10:13–17, Ephesians 2:8–9, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)
- I believe that all those who put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation are born again by the Spirit of God and make up the universal Church, which is also defined as the Body of Christ and the Household of Faith. (John 3:3, I John 5:1, Ephesians 2:18–19, I Peter 2:5, Ephesians 1:22–23)
- I believe that all who call upon the name of the Lord for salvation shall be saved and that believers in Jesus as the Christ are commanded to make disciples of all nations. (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:9–13, Matthew 28:18–20)
- I believe in the imminent and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the final events of history, which are recorded in Scripture, including the rewards of everlasting life and the torments of a literal hell. (Daniel 12:1–3, II Thessalonians 2:1–9, II Peter 3:10, Revelation 20:11–15)
